James turns 5!

I really cannot believe that he is now 5! James loves anything and everything Star Wars. He had a Star Wars birthday party this year with a light saber cake.
James also had a Scooby-Doo Cake made special for him by Gram and Aunt Cindy. He loves Scooby-Doo and really liked putting out the candles with the water filled fire hydrant toy.

He also enjoyed taking cupcakes to preschool to share with his class. We are turning over a new leaf because this year he even wanted to share with the girls.

Back to School

James is back for another year of Preschool. He really enjoys it and is enjoying a playgroup once a week with his Preschool buddies too. He is getting used to the idea of girls this year and confesses to having a girl buddy on a few occassions. The other night as he was getting in bed he told me that he was going to think about girls until he fell asleep. I guess it starts early!

William, Kate, and I went to feed the ducks during Preschool time.

We then went to change the oil in my car and this is how I chose to entertain William while we waited. Okay, maybe I entertained myself with some too!

The Zoo

We enjoyed our latest trip to the zoo with Grandma and some cousins! It was fun to see the baby animals this year. The baby Elephant is worth the drive to Salt Lake to see...really cute!

Bumbo

My friends were telling me how much they loved their Bumbos and I got Bumbo envy and went and bought one. Basically, it is a chair that a baby can sit up in without needing the ability to actually sit up. She likes it a lot. We can plop her on the table when we eat dinner and she is happy enough that we actually get to eat with two hands. A great invention!

Summer Highlights

Most of our summer has been spent getting used to taking care of three kids. I feel like I am always moving and going from one activity to the next. Unfortunately, my mind is too scattered to remember to actually finish what I started. The other day, James came running up to me yelling "EMERGENCY" when I realized that I forgot some hard-boiled eggs cooking on the stove. The water had evaporated out and the eggs were exploding all over my kitchen. He's pretty handy to keep around. He also yells "ALERT" if Kate tips over.
James and William play well together most of the time and have really enjoyed riding their bikes out in the neighborhood with their friends. The boys are always asking to "see Kate," which means that they want to get right in her face. She tolerates it nicely and responds with smiles most of the time.

It rained non-stop through June. Our street always gets a little pond anytime it rains. The water was actually warm this time. The boys played in it for hours.
We planted two trees in our back yard...something that we have wanted to do for 7 years now!

The big library party, which I love because everything is FREE...free rides, free food, and the kids love it!

William

Asleep sitting up...he'll do great sleeping on an airplane.

He's starting to lose his toddler look...wish he'd lose his toddler tantrums instead!

Feeding the ducks...he loves it!

The Class of 2023

James graduation from preschool this year. He absolutely loved it and never once complained about going to preschool.
A bit of a smug look from the graduate!

They learned sign language. This is the letter T...not him requesting a potty break!

His wonderful teachers

James did great in preschool and has made some good friends. He says his favorite part was making a horsey and an owl puppet. My favorite part is having a 2hr window a couple times a week to get some things done. We are already looking forward to the next year of preschool!
