William's birthday is December 28th. I think any December birthday is difficult, but the 28th seems impossible. After a lot of thought, I decided to make him a cake on his real birthday and celebrate it on January 28th. I thought this was going to work perfectly. I prepped William all day that he was going to get a cake after dinner, but his party would be next month. He seemed okay with the idea until Brent came home from work and the first thing out of William's mouth was, "Mom canceled my birthday." I just can't win!
Here are some of his party pictures. He told me he wanted a cake that stacked up high so I made him a stacked Lego cake. We played some Lego games where the kids had to create different things while being timed.
In the end, I liked the January 28th arrangement and will do it next year. It was close enough to his actual birthday and it was much easier for friends and family to participate.
