Phoenix Children's Hospital

About a week after Andrew came home, I took him into the Pediatrician for an appointment. Andrew had lost about 5 oz during that time. After some discussion, the pediatrician decided to have him admitted to PCH. Andrew spent another week in the hospital there where doctors ran just about every test under the sun. They tried to establish why he was losing weight and wanted to rule out a metabolic disorder among other things. These pictures were taken the day he was discharged. Thankfully, he has been steadily gaining weight and has remained home. We were so blessed by having family here to help in addition to ward members who brought in meals. I took this picture of a double rainbow from Andrew's hospital room. It was a stressful time, but we are so glad that he is home and getting healthy.

Update: We had some more appointments and tests this week and his pyruvate, biliruben, and lactic acid levels, which concerned them are trending to a normal level. I think we are just about out of the woods!
